I might be a wuss. The last couple weeks the weather has been getting cold, wet and windy here in Michigan. I thought I was going to "man up" and run all the way through winter but I just couldn't. I think my breaking point was running yesterday with 20 mph winds. Running is challenging enough I don't need the wind pushing me all over while I do it.
So I took the party inside. Not liking the weather the last couple weeks and knowing every month it is only going to get worse I decided to take this party inside. I joined a gym. I decided to go with my local Fitness 19 gym for a couple reasons. First they were running a Halloween special for $17 a month which is a great deal for around here. Second there is no commitment which is important to me. In the spring I might want to quit my membership and take my exercise back outdoors.
Another Dimension to My Fitness Goals. I've been doing a pretty good job with a running routine. With 4 days a week I"m getting some great cardio in. A few weeks ago I mentioned how I was going to start doing push ups and crunches to start working on my muscles. Well that goal has been my first failure. I've only been doing them sporadically sometimes maybe once a week. Now that I have a membership at a gym I'm going to implement a weight lifting regiment to go along with my running. I'll keep you posted on how/what I do. I'll be really curious to see how 30-40 minutes of weight lifting coupled with my running will impact my weight loss results. We are going to find out on Sunday!
