Got My Race Shirt Today!

I picked up my packet today!  A little extra motivation today when I picked up my packet for the Detroit Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day. I have 16 days left of training before I run that. I already have one 5k under my belt so I'm not too nervous but the size of this event is much bigger. The first 5k I ran in was a small community fund raiser with maybe 300 runners. The Turkey Trot in Detroit will have close to 22,000 runners in various events. It will be huge, but the bottom line is it's still a 5k. I want to beat my first 5k time of 33 minutes 49 seconds.

Got a great workout today. I got up early so I could vote before work today. I was a little tired after work tonight  but I sucked it up and went to the gym. Tonight I hit my legs and then finished with a 30 minute run. Here is what my workout looked like:
  • Leg Press 4 sets
  • Leg Curl 4 sets
  • Calf Raises 4 sets
  • Seated Machine Ab Crunch 4 sets
  • 30 minute run
PS-I bought a case of Muscle Milk at Sam's Club this weekend. I've been drinking one right after I'm done working out. Lets see if that helps my progress.

  2. Muscle milk is a good balanced drink. Taste wise, its pretty good compared to other things out there. With lifting, I take Jack3d which seems to really help give me the extra boost of energy for working out. It effects different people differently though. My sister may be in the race with you, I dont get in until 11am, so I'm not.
