Measuring My Success

There Is More than One Way to Measure Success (I hope!).   I've made the commitment to work hard and not weigh myself on the scale for one month (12/9). I am looking forward to not weighing myself and instead just focus on the gym and a healthy diet. I was thinking what I don't want to happen is to weigh myself on 12/9 and be disappointed if I only lose 3 pounds in 4 weeks so I decided to use another measurement to go along with the scale. I went to Target on my lunch and bought a measuring tape and when I got home I took some basic measurements. Not quite sure if I measured in the right spot but I figure as long as I measure in the same spot every time that is all that matters. Here is what it looks like:
  • Waist Line 49.5 inches
  • Chest 51.5 inches
  • Arm 15.75 inches
  • Quad 24 inches
What kind of progress will I make?  On December 9th if I only lose 2 pounds but make good progress on the numbers above than I consider that a success. My initial thoughts after seeing the numbers is holy shit I have a big waist, and wow I feel like a wuss with 15.75 inch arms.  Lets see what I can do in 4 weeks.

PS- 9 days until the Turkey Trot in Detroit!!!
