My Cooking Class!

I had some insanely good food today.  Today I went to the cooking class my wife signed me up for as a Christmas present. It was at Williams Sonoma. The class revolved around Tyler Florence's new book titled: Tyler Florence Fresh. Everyone got a copy of the book and if you get a chance you should take a look. The pictures of the food he prepares will blow you away. Before I show you the food porn let me just say this wasn't the most healthy food in the world but it was fun to make and delicious to eat!

Kale Salad With Apple, Walnuts, and Roasted Grape Vinaigrette. I've had kale before and I thought I could never eat it again. Tonight showed me I need to revisit Kale again. The roasted apples and grapes with this salad were so delicious. Only a couple modifications would be needed to make this an everyday salad. Namely skimp or eliminate the blue cheese.

Beef with Spinach, Parmesan, Lemon and Olive Oil. You can't go wrong with steak for your main course. I've never cooked a steak on anything else other than a grill before tonight. We cooked them on a iron skillet for a few minutes then shoved them in the oven. Just about as good as any steak I've eaten on a grill. Then we made the cream spinach which was pretty easy but tasty as well.

Frozen Chocolate Raspberry "Bombs". Now these things were pure evil. So easy to make but so delicious. I'm gonna make these the next time we have company over. Raspberries dipped in whipped cream and then chocolate and then back in the freezer.

What I learned tonight. What I learned tonight is great tasting food doesn't have to be overly complicated.  Most of these recipes took very few ingredients and no special skills. What I do want to do is modify some of the recipes I learned tonight to make them healthier.

PS-Got to kick some butt at the gym tomorrow morning. I have to burn a few more calories to make up for all this delicious food I ate!
