Had to Shut it Down. I woke up at 4:20 am got to the gym and warmed up like I normally do. I did 4 sets of Flat Bench press and my left shoulder was sore but I thought tolerable. It all went down hill when I jumped on the incline bench and tried to do some dumbbell presses. When I pushed the weight up it felt like I was being stabbed by a knife right in the shoulder. I stopped immediately and moved on but I was off for the rest of my workout. Any other upper body exercise just seemed to aggravate my shoulder. My solution for now is to shut down my upper body workouts for the rest of the week.
Terrible Run Tonight. The other injury I've been dealing with is my left ankle. I went for a run this evening and after about a mile my ankle was throbbing. I felt like I was dragging my left leg the entire time. Instead of the hour run I wanted to get in I had to stop after 35 mins. My solution for this is to try and run on the treadmill. I'm hoping the treadmill will be kinder than the hard cold sidewalk.
Diet has stay on point. With my training being hampered with injury I have focus on my diet. I want to lose weight when I jump on the scale on Sunday and I have to do what I can to make it happen. I won't be burning as many calories as I normally would so my diet has to be especially clean. My goal for this week now is to heal up and still lose a pound or two!
